Job Description

Key Accountabilities ; 

  1. Work closely with business and provide optimised and risk managed tax advice to support business objective. Ensure that tax attributes and impacts are understood by business.
  2. Monitor changes in GST law and rules on tax rates / procedure / forms, etc. affecting the region and work closely with compliance team to ensure that impacts of changes are taken into account in the desired manner
  3. Handle earlier regime Excise, VAT/CST audits / assessments where necessary to support overall team objective. Provide technical inputs to submissions and support completion of assessments before tax authorities in connection with the above
  4. Support Tax team in handling statutory auditors & tax litigation including inputs to filing replies to notices, appeals and petitions pertaining to the earlier excise regime.
  5. Provide required support to Tax team on the tax risk management and assurance process in the Group Tax function by preparing internal reports relating to liabilities, exposures, BSI for old and new taxes.
  6. Build and maintain constructive relationships with Tax Authorities and Auditors.
  7. Support Tax Team on the formation and modification of key tax processes including compliance, controls, related systems and automation of the same.
Essential Education : 
Chartered Accountant with 4 – 6 relevant years of post-qualification experience in indirect taxes working in large Indian and/or Multi-national Company or with reputed CA firm

Essential Experience and Job Requirements :

  • Good knowledge of general indirect tax procedures including GST, Customs, and legacy taxes (Excise and VAT) etc.
  • Proven and relevant and recent experience in handling Indian indirect Tax compliance and audit/ assessments.
  • Experience in dealing with the tax authorities and financial auditors are essential along with strong negotiations skills.
  • Good accounting knowledge and experience in accounting for taxes
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and similar tools.
  • Knowledge of ERP system and implementation and automation experience will be an advantage
