Job Description

You’ll be responsible for preparing the financial statements for managed legal entities, correct and adequate disclosures, handling the external audit of the subsidiary accounts and collaborating with various internal Macquarie teams for information gathering and analysis to ensure process objectives are met and delivered to a high standard.

You’ll be required to review financial statements and provide context to accounting and financial matters including complex transactions using IFRS based financial reporting. You’ll be responsible for reviewing and improving processes, controls and systems that impact the financial information related to legal entities.

You’ll identify, plan and mitigate any risk areas and provide advice to assist with resolving complex situations. You’ll also manage regular compliance activities which form part of ongoing monitoring and control requirements including periodic financial review and attestation of balances, impairment reviews, dividends assessments and presenting financial reports in board meetings.

You’ll be responsible for legal entity recaps and funding for transaction investments, cash settlements of intercompany balances, as well as managing FX exposure and reviewing journals for hedging. You’ll be required to review the financial performance of the entities on a regular basis, particularly during the year end process, and present to senior stakeholders.

You’ll develop core specialisation and subject matter expertise in assigned finance areas and will share this knowledge with your team. You’ll effectively manage and develop your team members to ensure key objectives are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.

To be successful in this role, you’ll have a postgraduate accounting qualification (CA or CPA), as well as 6-8 years of relevant post qualification experience and a strong background in financial accounting and reporting services. You’ll also demonstrate the ability to work in a virtual global team, manage cross-border relationships and be willing to travel internationally as required. You’ll demonstrate a strong customer service ethic with the ability to effectively build relationships and understand your stakeholder’s needs.

In this role, you’ll join the Legal Entity Control team which are responsible for the end to end management of financial affairs for the various legal entities including periodic reviews and financial commentary, statutory and management reporting, capital monitoring and license calculations.
